Pixel Border Photoshop Tutorial

In this tutorial I will show you how to make the ever cool, and very easy 1 px bevel technique that is used in many sites to this day. Like the one below.

pixel border 1

First off, you need to get and image to border, and then make a small border around it, maybe 10 px or so.

Make sure that your border is on a separate layer. Then select your border by holding the control button and clicking on the layer with your border on it, in your layer pallet.

Now keep that selection, and make a new layer, on this layer, got to EDIT>STROKE and put a value of 1 with a color of light gray, or a light version of what ever color your border is. Now do the same thing on a new layer, above the one your currently on, but this time use a dark gray, or a darker version of whatever color your border is.

Now, while you are on your dark border stroke color, make a selection like the one below, were the light would be hitting your border, and delete it.

This will give you a picture like this

See how it makes it look beveled? now do the same thing, but with a selection like this
