Brick Text Photoshop Tutorial
In this tutorial we are going to take our text and turn it into an inlay in an old brick wall. To start off, lets create a brick-colored background. To give my image a little more depth I used a radial gradient.

Use the text tool to write your title, and then rasterize your text by right clicking on your word with the text tool and choosing "rasterize type."

Ctrl click your text layer to get a selection. Create a new layer above your text layer and fill your selection with a very dark linear gradient. Be sure that the darker of the two colors is towards the top, this helps to create the "inlayed" effect.

Merge your layers by choosing Layer > Flatten Image. Now we are going to add the brick texture. Choose Filter > Texture > Patchwork. I used the settings below, but feel free to improvise.

Next we are going to add a little age to our wall by overlaying some noise. Create a new layer and fill it with black. Choose Filter > Noise > Add Noise. Choose "monochromatic," and play with the settings until you get something similar to mine.

Lower the opacity of your noise layer, and then use your eraser tool to get rid of most of the noise bordering the text.

Merge this layer with your background layer by pressing Ctrl+E. Now we are going to add some light. Choose Filter > Render > Lighting Effect. I used the settings shown below.

Your done! I added a small black border of 10 pixels, and included my domain name. Here is how mine turned out.
