Trendy Glass Tube 3d Studio Max Tutorial
This tutorial will show you how to make a cool "Glass
Tube" like the image below

First reset max. The choose the Torus Knot Object

Then take the cursor down to the perspective view
and drag it a little until you get the shape

Now do it a bunch more time until you get some wild
shapes running out o the screen like the image below

I made about 5 or so
Now the key to getting the right effect is the material.
So when you get a nice shape, like the one above,
then use the material settings below:
First go into the material library and choose "Reflection-Lake
standard"
To do this press the "M" button to bring
up the material editor, and then choose the "get
material" button
and the click on "Mlt Library" and scroll
down until you find the "Reflection_Lake standard"
material.

Now just double click on the "Reflection_Lake
standard" and it should place it on one of the
balls in your material editor. Now scroll down in
the material editor and choose "Maps"

after you click on "maps" it should bring
up a bunch of new selections, when it does, click
on "opacity" and were it says "none"
choose "falloff"
Now scroll back up to were the material colors are

click on the three colors, and one by one, make all
three of them any color you want, just make sure they
are the same color, or else you could come out with
something ugly. For mine, I made all three colors
a nice medium blue color. Now when you get the color
you want, put it on the objects.

Now you are all done, when it is rendered you should
get an image very close to the one below
