This tutorial will show you how to make your text explode in flash!

The first step is to create your text. So, with the text tool click and type in your text.

Now, while you have your text selected go to Modify> Break Apart

Now all of your letters are separated from each other So, in order to tell each letter to do different things we are going to put each one of them on a different layer. So, select your first letter and go to edit>cut

Now, make a new layer by going to insert>layer

While you are in your new layer go to edit> past in place

 

That should past your letter right back were it came from, but this time on your new layer!

While you have your letter selected go to edit>convert to symbol

and use these settings.

There you go, now that you have one letter done, you have to do the same thing to the rest of them! Just make sure that all of your letters end up on separate layers.

Once all of your letters are separated, put on new layer, and converted to a graphics symbol, its time to start animating them!

So, on each of your layer, create a new keyframe about 20 frames down.

Your timeline should look like mine.

Each layer having its own letter.

Now, making sure that you are on your last frame, start moving your text to the position that you want it to explode to.

Click on each letter and drag it outward.

Your last frame should look something like this

Now, while you are still on your last frame right click on a letter and choose rotate. Rotate your letter a little bit so that when it explodes it starts to turn. Do this to every letter.

Now, go to Window>Panels>effects

This will bring up the effects window.

Select a letter, making sure that you are on the last frame. Choose "alpha" from the dropdown menu and change the % to 0

Do this for every letter

Now, hold shit and select all your frame from the timeline.

Once all of the are selected right click and choose Create Motion Tween"

Now you are all done :) Go ahead and view your animation by going to file> preview
