Image Maps Dreamweaver Tutorial

First you need an image that you would like to add links to, any simple navigation menu will do. This technique is also great for adding index.html links to your header images so that people can return to your homepage by clicking your logo.

Add an image you would like to map by choosing the add image button on your objects window.

Here is the image I'm using.

I am going to use image maps to make each button in my navigation clickable. Click on your image, and bring up the properties window by choosing Window > Properties

Click on the arrow towards the bottom right of the menu to give you more options.

Choose the rectangular hotspots tool.

Use your mouse to drag a square over the part of your image you would like to link.

Fill in the values in your properties tab. Link being the URL you want your user to go to when clicked.

Repeat this process for each part of the image you would like to link. In the end you should have something like mine, test the button below!
