In this tutorial I will show you how to make a nice soft 3d wave effect as shown below.

Start off by making a new files, 400x400 with a black background

Go to filter> render> lens flare and use the exact settings specified in the picture below.

You should have an image like this. If not, check your settings and try again

Now go to Filter> distort> wave and use the settings below.

 

Your image should now look like this. By now we are starting to get the right shape, but we want it more defined.

Go ahead and run the filter again with the exact same settings as before.

Now you are finished. You are now free to add any text, arrows etc. to make your image look more trendy if wanted :)
