Blending Photos Photoshop Tutorial

This is a very simple tutorial, basically showing how blending normal photos with the overlay option can produce beautiful results!

Start out by making a new image, and pasting the background texture to fill your screen. You can use your own images, or you can use the ones I have.

Lets make things a little more interesting by overlaying another texture. Past the second picture on a new layer, and change the mode to "overlay"

Create a new layer, and position a picture of a face to the right. I used the file below. Now we need to delete the excess background from the portrait. Click on the "magic wand" tool on your toolbar, and choose a tolerance of 30. Click on the gray portion of the photo, and delete it.

Change your layer mode to "overlay" and then duplicate the layer.

Change the mode your duplicate layer back to normal, and then use the eraser tool to erase all of the face except the eye.

Now we are going to add a little texture with this picture of a duster. Paste the picture onto a new layer, and once again delete the portion around the eye. Use your eraser tool to erase the white edges towards the left.

I took it one step further by playing with the contrast and saturation. Flatten your image by choosing Layer > Flatten Image. Now choose Image > Adjustments > Hue and Saturation. Bring down the saturation slightly. Next choose Image > Adjustments > Brightness and Contrast and up the contrast slightly.

You should have something similar to mine, here's how it turned out.
