Trendy Abstract 3d Studio Max Tutorial 2

¬ 1: Ok
well first off now that we got the render all
done.. We want to name the layer render "Main".
Now make a new layer over top of your main layer
name this layer "Light" and your going
to take the paintbrush took paint a big area
about 3x3 inches in any shape it doesn't have
to be a distinct shape it just has to be in
the area where you want your wall to look brighter
now set the "Light" layer to soft
light. |
¬ 2: Next
you want to copy your Main layer and move it
to the right about 300 pixels and set the layer
to screen and 13% opacity, name that layer "Screen"... |
¬ 3: Now
make another copy of your main layer and drop
the opacity down to about 15% and name this
layer "Opacity". |
¬ 4: Ok the next step I sort of created on my own
and I'm going to explain to you how to do it
and give you what I used to do it. Ok first
of all what I did was I zoomed in using the
magnifying glass to look at a cornered edge
took a screenshot of it using print screen paste
it into Photoshop cut out one side of the edged
part and then I edit/transform/Flip vertical
it. And then blurred all the edges with the
blur tool. And set the layer to pin light. Ok
here is the example it's unblurred but you can
bur it and use it. Make sure it's on the far
right side of your wallpaper... It's always
better off you do it yourself though just to
gain the experience. Name this layer "Pin
Light". |
|
¬ 5 - Ok
then I made a new layer name it "Sides".
Then what I did was I held ctrl and click on
my original Main layer and then went to modify
and inverted the selection and being that I'm
still on my Sides layer I selected a darker
color and filled it. And Gaussian blurred it
by 9.2. |
Ok from here on it gets much easier b/c now
you have your basic wall you just need to edit
it and use masks and use some brightness/contrast
layers on it. Which I will explain what I did
and how I did it. |

¬ 1: Ok here I added a
grid type thing to the side but it's not a grid
here is the .psd.
Click on .psd and it will open. Ok well select
all on that and add it to your wallpaper then
drop the opacity to 5%. |
¬ 2: Now for the next thing I did
was sort of odd but I did it I took a ss of
Photoshop copy and pasted into my wallpaper
cut the center out and then Gaussian blurred
it by like 30 and set it to soft light. It might
not look good on your wall it depends on each
and every wall it looked good in mine so I used
it. It tends to give the wall some character.
|
¬ 3: Then
I added a brightness and contrast layer mask
now if you don't know how to do this here is
an example. |
